Basti pensare che all’indomani della Prima Crociata gli eserciti crociati provenienti da mezza Europa vollero presto nominare Arcivescovo di Gerusalemme, Daiberto Lanfranchi allora Arcivescovo della florida Repubblica Marinara di Pisa potente alla stregua di Venezia, Genova e Amalfi.
